Voyage Tampa's Rising Stars: Meet Tonia Walker-Singleton

File_000.jpeg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonia Walker-Singleton.

Hi Tonia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story began as a child growing up seeing and hearing individuals being mentally, physically, and verbally abused, and not being able to do anything about it. In my heart, I knew something was needed or had to be done, but I didn’t know what because I was very young.

As I continue to grow, I began working within my church in various capacities, specifically with the youth. As a youth counselor, I focused on building relationships with teenagers and young adults. Over the next several years, I worked and volunteered with other churches and local non-profit organizations, like “ Hands-on Tampa Bay”, serving meals and assisting those underprivileged throughout the community.

As an ordained licensed Evangelist, and with my 30-plus years in customer service, I was called to begin a non-profit organization that would assist low to moderate-income women and children. In 2014, I published my first book, “Transforming Into God’s Beautiful Butterfly – Uncovering Your Inner Beauty” which allows readers to self-discover who they are in Christ.
